Employment

I have been a Solicitor since 1980 and have spent a good deal of my time assisting clients both employers and employees with various aspects to do with employment.

This is included for employers assisting with drafting Contracts of Employment and also advising regarding issues that may arise from time to time and drafting a Settlement Agreement if agreement is reached.  I have also acted for employers at the Employment Tribunal and also within the Civil Courts in relation to claims for Breach of Contract and Unfair Dismissal.

For employees I have assisted, giving advice on Employment Contracts and in addition acting for employees who have been subject to Unfair or Wrongful Dismissal and have represented clients both before the Courts and the Employment Tribunal.

If you have any issues relating to employment be you either an employer or an employee, please contact me either using my email address, or my direct contact telephone number which is as follows……

Pricing

Our advice is charged at competitive rates which will be agreed with you at the outset. Detailed estimates will be provided in most circumstances and for non–contentious work, such as drafting contracts and policies, where possible we will give you a quote. Our policy is to provide an open and transparent pricing of our work.

Every case is different due to the fact that the time spent will depend upon the facts of the case and the complexity but as a guide a fully contested case for unfair dismissal through the tribunal could cost between £4,000-5,000.

My hourly rate is £250 + VAT which equates £25 +VAT for each letter or email sent, £12.50 +VAT for each letter or email received and telephone calls being charged in units of 6 minutes with each unit being charged at the rate of £25+VAT.

As part of the free assessment we offer, I will be able to better assess what work would be required and would then be able to give a more accurate estimate of the costs.

For some cases, I offer a pay as you go, scheme, whereby I would give advice only when necessary during the process but leave the client to process the claim themselves and this does considerably reduce the costs.
